Build a hitting setup that works the way you play with the Carl’s HotShot™ Golf Mat System. Designed for comfort, durability and flexibility, this customizable system lets you create a practice area tailored to your space, swing and training routine.
Choose your preferred mat size, hitting insert, base, hitting area and accessories to create a golf mat setup that fits your needs—whether you’re sharpening your game at home or completing a full indoor simulator space.
Hitting off a hard mat for an hour is what ends most indoor practice sessions, and it is usually the wrists and elbows that call time rather than the swing. The HotShot mat is an anti-fatigue fiber build tuned to sit between softness and realism: forgiving enough to hit hundreds of balls off, firm enough that the turf interaction still tells you something true about the strike.
The hitting area is a replaceable strip, and you choose which one. The Standard Hitting Strip is the original design and the only one that takes a real tee, which makes it the versatile all-rounder. The Foam Divot Strip is the most forgiving of the three - the one to pick for long sessions, for a family where somebody is going to hit it fat, or for anyone managing a joint problem. The Gel Divot Strip is the most realistic, mimicking real turf response so a heavy strike is punished the way it would be on grass.
Because the strip is a separate component, the wear happens where you hit and the rest of the mat is untouched. That is the practical case for this design over a single-piece turf mat: you replace a strip, not the mat.
Sizing follows your stance rather than your room. A 4 x 5 ft mat lets most golfers swing a driver with their heels comfortably on the mat. Move up to 4 x 9 ft or 5 x 8 ft if you have a wide stance, if you want the extra margin, or if left and right-handed players will share it - the larger sizes take both without moving the mat.
Every mat is 1 3/4 inches thick. Add the Carl's Place HotShot Golf Mat Base underneath for extra cushioning and to stop the mat sliding on a hard floor.
