Most golf simulator screens look their best with the lights off. This one does not need you to close the blinds. The High-Contrast Gray screen absorbs ambient light rather than reflecting it, so blacks stay black and colours stay saturated in a room with windows, downlights or a bar behind the tee.
The material is the same triple-layer, tightly woven, impact-resistant polyester as the Premium white screen - Carl's Place did not thin it out to get the gray. It is simply the top-of-the-line material in a light-absorbing finish, which is why it costs a little more than Premium rather than less.
Three layers do three jobs: the tight outer weave gives a smooth surface with no visible texture in the projected image, the centre layer dampens the noise of the strike, and the mass of the whole stack absorbs energy so the ball drops rather than firing back at you. It is tested against golf balls travelling up to 250 mph, and Carl's Place rates all of its screen material for thousands of strikes at that speed.
Choose it if your bay is commercial, if the room has real daylight in it, or if you have ever looked at a projected image and thought the blacks looked grey. Choose the Premium white screen instead if you can control the light in the room and want the brightest possible picture.
This is the screen alone. It mounts to a frame you build or already own - Carl's Place recommends 1 in EMT with the outer frame 4 inches taller and wider than the screen, hung with 6 in or 9 in ball bungees, and 12 to 16 inches of clear space behind the screen so the material can stretch freely.
Every screen is cut and sewn to order, so production time varies with demand. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout.

- Tested to 250 mph - rated for thousands of strikes at full driver speed
- Minimal bounceback - the mass of the three-layer stack absorbs energy so the ball drops at the screen
